Approaching the Limits of what we Know
Here's a hot take: any individual's given LLM usage, only extends the person's useful outputs by a factor of n, before giving the illusion of learning/creation/productivity/ideation beyond it by a factor of m.
Obviously this isn't a linear statement, there are no theorems or lemmas or general statements of fact here; definitely not in a personal blog.
However, I've noticed this about my own explorations being productive/creative with LLMs, and in others': we create what we wish for based on our hard won experiences... before the LLM era.
After that, followthrough as a true creative metric falls through my subjectively observed floor. That is to say, if we haven't wished for it based on personally won mental models, skill, projects, collaboration, etc, then it is unlikely to be obtained at all.
We just get the feeling of it... right up until we realize we're that raccoon washing his cotton candy.
